Hello! I’m so happy that you’ve taken a moment out of your busy day to read this!
It seems that, at least in my current experience, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to do things at leisure. To sit and do something simple because you have absolutely nothing else to do. It’s always “Go, go, go!”, on to the next thing. There is always something demanding our attention. So, thank you very much for giving some of your precious time and attention here!
My name is Grant. I was born, raised, and currently reside in the pure, beautiful, water/winter wonderland state of Michigan. I’m single, Christian, an artist/designer, and currently living with three roommates. At the time of my writing this, I work at a local non-profit while also trying to move forward with a career in design and/or creativity of some nature. My free time is spent enjoying a wide range of hobbies, from movies to disc golf, from skiing to reading, from drawing to writing. Which brings me here.
This is my very first blog post, though, I guess I’ve made social media posts that could be considered blog entries, considering the length of writing I put into some of them. But this is much more official and intentional. It’s been on my mind for a long time now to become more serious about writing. In fact, this blog exists as part of my new year’s resolution.
In 2026, I am going to write more.
Growing up, I did not enjoy most writing. Having to put together an essay for any subject in school was a chore. I dragged my feet with most writing assignments. Yet, when it came to expressing my thoughts and feelings, they came out more clearly and confidently on paper rather than from my mouth.

Entering college brought me to new levels of individuality and expression. I was growing more into my own person, and I had professors who cared about their subjects and cultivated my creativity. I found myself enjoying writing. Not every assignment or topic was a joy to accept, but it was the act of writing, that form of expression, that I came to appreciate.
Seven years later, fresh out of college with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design, I’ve found myself with a desire to write more than ever before. To express my observations, thoughts, and ideas to the world, with hopes that someone will be positively impacted by them.

What sort of things will I write about? I’m not entirely sure. Whatever is on my mind. Whatever seems important or helpful to say. I imagine this blog will be a whole mess of opinions, observations, and passionate proclamations. Maybe to critique, but never to demean. I want to be uplifting and speaking life with my words. Whether I’m writing about a nerdy obsession, sharing a personal experience, contributing to a cultural conversation, or expressing my faith, this blog’s goal is to bring growth to both me and to others.
